“I’M IN LOVE WITH JESUS. THAT’S LIKE, OFF TOP.”

It was perhaps the most unique and substantive bachelor introduction given to reality TV star Omarosa on the Donald J. Trump presents The Ultimate Merger dating show. The speaker was ordained minister Eduardo “Eddy” Puyol and fully encapsulated both his commitment to his faith and roots in the hip-hop culture as a recording artist.

Whether it’s through songs like the Top 40 Billboard Christian Rock hit “On Fire” that NASCAR driver Michael McDowell selected for his intro theme and was performed at Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade’s 30th birthday brunch or his sets on the 2012 Dove Awards telecast and THE STORY Tour stops, Eddy, performing under the name “Rawsrvnt” (pronounced raw servant), creates music that connects people to God’s heartbeat.

This passion has led him to travel extensively, bringing his hip-hop/rock/reggae fusion art to preach, uplift, and touch hearts across the globe with the redemptive nature of God’s love.

“My music isn’t just for young people or inner city people or American people,” Puyol says. “It’s for all people. People our Father created in His own image, who have an intrinsic value, and who He loves so very passionately.”

His latest project is called The Band and showcases the direction Rawsrvnt’s ministry and career are going in. It also allows churches, event planners, and fans to get a taste of what his live show is like and to experience what it’s like to worship God the way Puyol does – simply “Raw.”

It appears that Tennessee Titans’ rookie linebacker Zach Brown truly is “on fire.”

After achieving two sacks in a recent Monday Night Football game against the New York Jets (where he was seen sporting the #IMONFIRE wristbands from hip hop worship artist Rawsrvnt) he followed it up with a record-tying two interceptions for touchdowns against the Jacksonville Jaguars on December 30.

“It’s awesome to see an athlete like Zach who is so upfront about his faith do so well on the football field,” Rawsrvnt said.

“His passion for the game is evident and even though I’m from Miami, it feels like I’m starting to become a Tennessee Titan fan,” the rapper joked.

A black and white silicon wristband for Christian rapper Rawsrvnt’s #IMONFIRE campaign was spotted on Tennessee Titan linebacker Zach Brown during this week’s Monday Night Football game against the New York Jets. Brown had two sacks in the game including the one of Jets’ quarterback Mark Sanchez seen in the screenshot above. The Titans won the game 14-10.

Earlier this year the Florida-based hip hop worship artist teamed with GRATEFUL APPAREL to launch the #IMONFIRE brand. The clothing company now offers special products designed to promote proud passion of God’s love for His creation.

#IMONFIRE is a concept “sparked” by Rawsrvnt’s song of the same name. In a world where people are fanatical about a wide array of idols and ideals, he felt it was vital to infiltrate pop culture with a message that is undeniable.

“Everywhere you look people are promoting what excites them or what they believe in the most,” Rawsrvnt said. “That’s our aim with the #IMONFIRE campaign – to give folks a way to make a very bold and public statement of their excitement about Christ’s love.”

Rawsrvnt was alerted to the #IMONFIRE appearance on Monday Night Football via a Tweet from Titans’ quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.

This isn’t the first time Rawsrvnt’s “On Fire” song/theme has been used in professional sports. NASCAR driver Michael McDowell used the song as his entrance theme and in January the artist was invited to perform the track at the 30th birthday brunch of Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade.

What’s next? Baseball? Tennis? I’m told the Williams sisters do live near Palm Beach…

  5. Rapper Rawsrvnt follows path that keeps him aligned with God

Rapper Eddy “Rawsrvnt” Puyol is known by some as a bachelor on Donald Trump’s reality show “The Ultimate Merger.” His passion for his craft has led him to travel extensively, bringing his “Hip-Hop Worship” blend of hip-hop/rock/reggae music to touch hearts across the world with the message of God’s love.

We spoke to Rawsrvnt about his 10 years in the music business, what he’s learned along the way and his new music.

Q: I found a headline in a press release that said, “Rawsrvnt celebrates 10 years of music ministry.” Does that even seem possible to you?

A: I’ve been blessed with 10 years in the game. We started a ministry called “Soul Deep Ministries” in 2002. We are all about sharing God’s love and the plan and purpose he has for each of our lives. One thing led to another, and the next thing you know it’s been a decade.

Q: What do you know now that you wish you had known when you started?

A: So many things. I would say that every day I have to remind myself that this is a faith walk. It’s not about who you know or what kind of music you do, it’s all about remembering who you belong to. You are God’s child. He has your steps aligned and things specifically for you to do, so when you take that to heart and walk with Him, you begin to understand that you can trust Him for the next breath and to take care of you in every situation that comes your way.

Q: Even after such a long career in music, there are still those who don’t know who you are, especially outside the genre of hip-hop. What’s your elevator pitch?

A: I’m a man who is sold-out, in love with Jesus. That comes first. From being a contestant on “The Ultimate Merger,” singing at Dwayne Wade’s birthday party or through my song “On Fire” being used as a theme song for NASCAR driver Michael McDowell, I’ve had so many unique opportunities to share my passion for Jesus, and that’s really what it’s all about.

Q: In your testimony, you said you were called to ministry at a young age but ran from it. What brought you back to life with Christ?

A: It was a series of events that led me back. The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” That’s exactly what my parents did by teaching me about the love of God when I was a young boy. When I got into high school, I started to do my own thing until I came to the point I was sick of living on my own terms. I recognized that God was sparing me over and over, in spite of my wrong decisions. I cried out to God and just said, “I give up.” God is the ultimate fisherman. We bite the bait and swim away over and over, but He is always pulling us back until we wear ourselves out.

Q: Tell me about your new song “Fallin’ In Love.”

A: Once you realize the goodness of God, you fall in love. All you want to do is spend time with Him. Every day God shows us His greatness and His love for us. Sometimes, He shows us in big ways, but sometimes it’s little things that are specific to you that only your heart understands. He never ceases to amaze me, and that’s why I fell in love with Him.

  6. Eddy “Rawsrvnt” Puyol shares about his ministry, testimony, & more

Often times people ask me what’s the name of the Church I preach at and/or Pastor at so they could come visit and listen to me share a message. I always smile and let them know currently I’m a traveling minister. I do however always strive to share something during my concerts and services that’ll bring people closer to God’s heart beat and invite them to relate to my story.

On October 7, 2012 that very thing happened at Frontier Church in Leesburg, FL. During our time of doing music, I took some time out to share about my ministry, my testimony, & more. I hope you enjoy listening and hearing about the meaning of a decade of faith. Watch the video here.

Check out the new sound The Band & I are workin on with our live version of “On Fire” as well as our new song “Won’t Stop” off ‘The Band’ album that’s coming soon.

Perhaps inspired by “The Office” wedding episode that parodied the original “Jill and Kevin” viral video, a Netherlands couple used Christian rapper Rawsrvnt’s “I Gotta Feeling/Take It All” mashup to add some fun to their own nuptial ceremonies. Watch the video here.

“I was honored that they used my song for such a memorable moment,” the Florida-based hip-hop worship artist said. “They’ll always remember that part of their special day and this is just another example of how God’s music continues to reach the four corners of the Earth.”

We at Soul Deep Ministries wish nothing but God’s best for Justin and Jonn’s holy union.

So… this is the first year I’ve ever heard of/seen fans dressing as their favorite Christian rappers for Halloween.

Earlier this week Reach Records artist Andy Mineo posted a fan photo (seen above on the left) on Instagram of a kid who copped his “Young” tee-shirt and entire look.

    image

And on October 31 this pic of Ryan Sworth appeared on hip-hop worship artist Rawsrvnt’s Twitter feed. Sworth is the Lead Designer and Communications Director at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC where Raw performed this spoken word piece at Easter. (Note the mirror image wardrobe.)

It will be interesting to see if this trend continues next year.

Which Christian rapper would you dress up as for Halloween?

  10. Rawsrvnt teams with Grateful Apparel for #IMONFIRE campaign

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – What excites you? What fuels your passion? What gets you out of bed in the morning and ready to take on the day?

Most of us are motivated by something and it’s not uncommon to ultimately see that “thing” celebrated in song, the visual arts, or even clothing.

With that idea in mind Florida hip hop worship artist Rawsrvnt has teamed with Grateful Apparel for the #IMONFIRE campaign. The clothing company will offer special products designed to promote proud passion of God’s love for His creation.

“My goal is to ignite a flame of fire that will continuously burn in people’s hearts and eventually impact their lifestyle,” Rawsrvnt said. “My friends at Grateful Apparel offer several unique vehicles to help me achieve that.”

The partnership includes a #IMONFIRE T-shirt and wristband. The pieces are on sale in a special “Bonfire Bundle” that includes both items plus an autographed copy of Rawsrvnt’s latest album Love Deluxe.
